Information

Porters is open with all lifts running from 9am. It’s going to be a mixed bag of weather today, with a cold change expected this afternoon, which will see increasing amounts of snow to low levels towards this evening. At 5:45am we have partly cloudy skies and light westerly breezes at all elevations. The temperature is 4 degrees. The forecast is for winds to go south, temperatures to fall and snow to start around lunchtime. As the weather system arrives, visibility is expected to reduce. Dress warm and pack low light lenses. We have groomed upper mountain trails through McNulty’s and Stellar Bowl, and mid and lower mountain trails on Easy Street and the learners area overnight. We will open as much terrain as possible today. IMPORTANT ROAD INFORMATION Our road this morning will not need chains to access the ski area or snow play, however all vehicles using the road today are required to carry chains, and these must fit your vehicle. We expect that vehicles will need to use chains on our access road this afternoon, including to access or leave the lodge and snow play area. We do not sell or hire snow chains, and are generally unable to assist with fitting them. Please maintain two way access on our road today. If you get stuck because you do not have chains, there is a chance that you will have to wait a while for us to assist you, or that your vehicle may have to stay on the mountain until the road melts out. It is our first priority to get everybody off the mountain safely, and keep road traffic moving. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar will be open for coffee from 10am, and meals from 11am. Snowplay at the Lodge will be opening at 10am today. SHUTTLE Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day picking up at Chain Bay 2, and the Lodge on request, at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am.
